Discover Couturious
On forming Couturious she was joined by Cheryl Sternstein who collaborated with Debra on the Mini Beast collection. This was the first collaborative project for Couturious. In April 2006 Aurelie Stefani and Claire Maiques came from Paris and collaborated to create the patriot and novelty collections. In May 2006 the rock n’ roll photographer Kate Garner collaborated to design the Leigh Bowery collection which will be featured by the V&A museum in the Leigh Bowery exhibition in October 2008. These relationships form part of Debra’s vision of British design colonialisation. Most recently Debra is collaborating with international furniture and wallpaper producers, both industrial and artisan to push out the boundaries and create utilitarian and edgy applications for her designs.
Couturious is a collaborative innovation hub for printed design and actively encourages creative partnership with clients, manufacturers and designers. We help to ensure our clients have progressive and ground breaking designs and are seen as forgers of trends, rather than followers.
Debra Bean’s collections are held in the V&A print archive. Internships available.
